Spansion

Spansion was a prominent American-based semiconductor manufacturer, specializing in flash memory solutions. Founded in 2003 as a joint venture between AMD and Fujitsu, it became an independent company focused on designing, developing, and producing NOR flash memory and embedded systems. Spansion was known for its high-performance, high-reliability memory products used in automotive, industrial, consumer, and communications applications. In 2015, Spansion merged with Cypress Semiconductor, forming a larger entity that continued to innovate in microcontrollers and memory technologies before Cypress was subsequently acquired by Infineon Technologies in 2020. Throughout its history, Spansion played a key role in advancing non-volatile memory technology.
